Jehovah Jireh Ministries Church Of God In Christ
Jehovah Jireh Church Of God In Christ held it’s opening service on May 17, 1992 at 2:00pm. District Superintendent Robert Earl Jenkins opened his doors to us at the Mount Olives COGIC building, 2006 James Avenue North in Minneapolis. There were 20 people in attendance, fourteen of whom signed on as charter members. They were: Sandra Annise Moore, Stephen Moore, Jason Moore, Virgie McGregor, Hilary Hardeman, Denise Washington, Betty Johnson, Gwen Minnieweather, Odell & Cynthia Whitfield, Panya Ibura, Vannessa Austin, Willie Mae Reed and Vera Powell.
A little less than two months later, on July 12, Elder McKinley Moore was officially installed as Pastor of Jehovah Jireh by Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Stanley Neil Frazier. Additional members who had joined by this time were Dr. Akiba Ibura, Rakia Ibura, Barbara Stewart, Pearlie Cooper, and Sheree Brown.
On Sunday August 23, 1992 God opened a door in the city of Brooklyn Center, and Jehovah Jireh held its first service at the Brookdale Christian Center Assembly Of God, Reverend Robert Cilke, Pastor.
It was the vision of Pastor Moore that Jehovah Jireh would have its’ own building in four years. Trusting just as our name says that “The Lord Will Provide”; Jehovah Jireh moved to our new location at 6120 Xerxes Avenue North in Brooklyn Center, on September 3, 1995; just three years and three months after our opening service. Truly God is Good!
The following proclamation was made on December 3rd, 1995 at the dedication of our new building: “We the membership of Jehovah Jireh Church Of God In Christ along with our Pastor McKinley Moore and First Lady Sandra Annise Moore present this building to be dedicated to God. We present it as a place where the Word of God will be preached, The Spirit and Power of God will be alive, The Majesty of God will be worshiped, souls will be saved, and lives will be changed. This is GOD’S house.
In November of 1998 we had the official opening of the “Bishop C. H. Mason Institute of Child Development” Preschool. We have since leased space for other child care centers to be housed in our facility. Kids Dominion preschool and child care center in 2000. Joy In Learning Academy in 2003, New Generation Child Care Center in 2006, and Christina’s Child Care Center in February of 2011.
On December 30th, 1998 we fulfilled our lease option and closed on the purchase of our building, again, one year ahead of schedule. We are blessed to be the owners of: 3.2 acres of land and 8,640 square feet of building space, Fifty three parking spaces, a beautiful sanctuary, offices, classrooms, kitchen & dining area, bathrooms and playground; and everything is handicap accessible. In 2000, we added a new garage, built by the men of the church.
In May of 2003, Pastor Moore founded and serves as Chief Executive Officer of the “Something Moore Book Store” located at Jehovah Jireh.
Having begun our ministry through the grace of others who opened doors to us in sharing their facilities, Jehovah Jireh Ministries continues to follow in those footsteps. We are honored to have opened our doors to the following ministries, permitting them a stable place from which to launch their church: Christ Healing Chapel Pentecostal, Alpha & Omega Pentecostal, El Remanete` Escogido, and we currently host Inglesia Pentecostes Lirios De Los Valles.
Jehovah Jireh is committed to “Making Disciples” for the Glory of God. We are grateful to God for his divine provision in permitting us to celebrate our 25th year of ministry. The complete vision is yet for an appointed time. In God’s timing it will speak and not tarry. We continue to expect great things from a Great God. Thank you for Praying with us.
